Remote/Home Learning
There may be occasions when children are unable to attend school due to illness, isolation requirements (including COVID-19), severe weather conditions, school closures, weather warnings, snow days, extreme heat or other exceptional circumstances.
In situations where a child needs to learn from home due to illness or isolation, the school expects children to engage in learning activities remotely whenever possible. The Department for Education requires schools to provide families with access to suitable learning resources and activities to support children's education while they are away from school.
Please note that holidays taken during term time are considered unauthorised absences unless exceptional circumstances have been agreed by the Headteacher. As these absences are unauthorised, teachers are not required to set work for children who are absent due to family holidays.
Our school is committed to supporting children and families during periods of absence by providing accessible learning materials, guidance and signposting to high-quality educational resources. These resources are designed to help children maintain continuity in their learning and make learning at home as effective and manageable as possible.
